Dancers Inc. 2022 Judges

Adam Cates

Adam Cates is a director/choreographer, educator, author, and producer with creative credits that include Anastasia, A Gentleman's Guide to Love & Murder, and Anything Goes on Broadway; operas and concerts at Lincoln Center and The Juilliard School; national tours including The Wizard of Oz and Tommy Tune's Doctor Dolittle; and regional productions for major theater and opera companies across the US. He has taught on the faculties of Pace University, Marymount Manhattan, BDC, Steps, TAPS, and Commercial Dance Intensive. Adam is the author of The Business of Show and The World According to Snoopy, and he holds an MFA in Interdisciplinary Arts. He is currently the head of education and development while also producing for the Pioneer Center for the Performing Arts in Reno, Nevada. 

Adena Ershow

Originally from West Orange, NJ, Adena grew up training at The Joffrey Ballet School, and was a Dance major at the Somerset County Votech. Adena continued in higher education at Wagner College, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Performance and was a member of their nationally-ranked dance team. Since then, Adena has gone on to perform at sea and on land. She played the role of Rumpleteazer in CATS on the Oasis of the Seas, and has worked at the Tony Award winning Paper Mill Playhouse, in their production of Mary Poppins, choreographed by Tony-nominee Denis Jones. Most recently, she played the role of Val, and understudied Cassie in Denis Jones’ newly choreographed and award winning production of A Chorus Line at the Tony Award winning Signature Theatre. Adena is a member of the Actor’s Equity Association.

Amy Surette

Born and raised outside of Boston Massachusetts, Amy Surette has studied the vast majority of both the concert and commercial dance world. She grew up as a competition dancer then went on to study concert dance at The University of Massachusetts Amherst. After a year and a half, she decided to further her education in dance and moved to Los Angeles to obtain her BFA in Commercial Dance from Hussian College In Studio. Upon graduation, she signed with McDonald Selznick Associates Agency (MSA) and began her commercial career in Los Angeles. Amy now resides on the East Coast to work on the expansion of her new entertainment and media company called PLATFORM, with her partner Giana Forgione.  She continues to work professionally under MSA New York, teach and choreograph for various dance studios, and utilize her passion for fitness by training clients from coast to coast.

Andrea Mychaels

Brad Trump

Brad Trump is thrilled to be returning to Dancers Inc. judging for his 8th consecutive season. He received his training from the Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School, Point Park University, and the Joffrey Ballet School. As a performer, Brad has been seen on stages all over the nation in the CATS National Tour (Tumblebrutus), Mary Poppins (Neleus), Newsies (Finch), Spamalot (Nun/Patsy U/S), Joseph…Dreamcoat (Benjamin), Oklahoma!, A Christmas Carol, and various productions of The Nutcracker (Toy Soldier Doll/Lead Russian). Film: Lovestruck! A Movie Musical. Brad has been a dance educator for ten years and has taught at various studios throughout the northeast.

Daniel Stanley

"Daniel is excited to return to Dancers Inc. this year. Daniel is a Production Manager with RWS Entertainment Group working with performers all around the world. Recently, he has toured with Cirque Musica as the associate choreographer. Daniel has been in many productions such as Chicago, Guys and Dolls, American In Paris, and Newsies."

Elizabeth Szendrődy

Elizabeth Szendrődy is a 26 year old dancer who grew up in Utica, NY where she began  dancing at the age of 3. Elizabeth has traveled all over the country to learn from many reputable companies and choreographers. These include techniques of Cunningham, Taylor, Horton, Limon, Duncan; training with New York City Ballet principal dancers, Nutmeg Conservatory, The Alvin Ailey School, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, and San Francisco Conservatory of Dance. Most recently Elizabeth has danced professionally Summer Stage for West Side Story  and worked overseas in England with Cunard Cruise Line and Headliners Theatre Company  performing many forms of Ballroom Dance, and Musical Theatre.  Today, Elizabeth continues to train and audition where she resides in New York City,  New York.

Gianna DeStasio

Gianna is a working dancer trained in jazz, ballet, tap, hip-hop, contemporary, and jazz funk. Gianna was born and raised in Marlton, NJ where she trained at Jazz Unlimited Studio of Dance Arts. Gianna was a member of the nationally ranked Saint Joseph's University Dance Team, and was also selected to be a dancer for the Philadelphia 76ers Dance Team. She is currently choreographing for studios and high school dance teams around New Jersey.

Kat Murphy

Kathryn Mowat Murphy (Kat) has been in the theater and the dance world for over 25 years, a professional Broadway dancer, she has been training dancers, actors, and the general population throughout the USA and internationally for years. Some of Kathryn's career highlights. Broadway and Equity National tours include Pal Joey (2008 revival), Fosse, Chicago, Sweet Charity with Wayne Cilento, and A Chorus Line (Cassie), (Sheila) with Mitzi Hamilton. TV: NBC “Saturday Night Live”, Nickelodeon’s “I Carly”. Regional Equity Broadway shows include  Bye-bye Birdie,  Sister  Act, A Chorus Line, Chicago, and more as performer and associate choreographer and director. She has been a faculty member at New York’s Premier Professional Dance studio STEPS ON BROADWAY since 2000. Kat teaches Jazz and Theater Dance. She is also a Guest Faculty of the Jazz technique at the school at Steps children’s program. She Is a renowned award-winning choreographer for many dancers at the ADC (American Dance Competition) and YAGP (Youth America Grand Prix)

Kristen Barnes

Kristen graduated high school from The University of North Carolina School of the Arts where she studied ballet. Immediately after graduation, Kristen started dancing on cruise ships and eventually became a Radio City Rockette. She has also appeared in several national and international commercials as well as Saturday Night Live, MTV Video Music Awards and A Night of Too Many Stars with Jon Stewart. Kristen is so excited to be involved with these amazing up and coming performers!

KT Rose

KT Rose is a professional dancer based in New York City. KT attended Pace University where she received a BFA in Commercial Dance, with a concentration in Pedagogy, and a minor in Arts and Entertainment Management. KT currently teaches dance and has found a love for working with children! In addition to dancing, KT sings and records her own music. KT has been working with Dancers Inc since she was one of their Senior Titlists and cannot wait to judge the dancers this season!

Lauren Alagan

Lauren is ecstatic to be returning to Dancers Inc. this season! A professional dancer and singer based in New York City, Lauren’s performance career spans theme parks (Universal Studios Florida, Six Flags Great Adventure), cruise ships (Holland America Line, Regent Seven Seas), and regional theaters (Arizona Broadway Theatre, Fulton Theatre, The Palace Theatre, Axelrod Performing Arts Center, Post Playhouse) across the country. Her favorite credits include An American in Paris and Catch Me If You Can (Arizona Broadway Theatre), Polly Baker in Crazy for You (Post Playhouse), Judy Turner in A Chorus Line (The Palace Theatre), Ensemble/Mistress Understudy in Evita (Fulton Theatre), and being featured in last season's Neiman Marcus Holiday commercial choreographed by Emmy nominated choreographer, Al Blackstone. Lauren has also worked alongside New York City and Los Angeles based choreographers such as Marc Kimelman, Melanie Lewis-Yribar, Chip Abbott, Billy Griffin, Al Blackstone, among many others to develop new and innovative shows for New York City based production company RWS Entertainment Group. Lauren is excited to see all of the talent these dancers will bring to the stage this season

Leah Reed

Leah is a NYC based dancer who received her BFA in Commercial Dance at Pace University! A few of her favorite credits include performing in the Las Vegas and New York Company of Rock of Ages, dancing in the hit TV show The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, and performing with Wyclef Jean. Leah is thrilled to join the panel of Dancers Inc. and can’t wait to watch all of the young dancers shine! Break Legs!

Melissa Strain

Melissa Strain is a commercial theatre creative based in NYC. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Dance and Kinesiology from Indiana University. Her favorite credits include In The Heights (Warner Bros.), The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (Amazon Prime), Guys & Dolls (Fireside Theatre), Elf The Musical (Argyle Theatre), American Horror Story: Freakshow (FX), Roots (AMC), The Righteous Gemstones (HBO), Porsche, MGM, and Southwest Airlines! Melissa is the Director of Operations for the internationally renowned Commercial Dance Intensive, a 10 year member of Dance Masters of America, and proud to be represented by LDC Artist Representation. Morijah Thomas

Morijah Thomas is a mover and creator currently based in South Jersey who passionately loves to share her experience of dance with others. She attended University of the Arts and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BFA in Dance with minors in Art Therapy and Music in 2020. While at UArts she had the honor to perform in works by Doug Varone, Robert Battle, Jesse Zaritt, Andrea Miller, Katie Swords Thurman, Annie Rigney and Sidra Bell. Morijah was accepted to the UArts School of Dance trip to Europe in 2018 where she had the opportunity to take class in Paris at the Centre National de la Danse with Gala Moody and Daniel Condamine, and in Brussels at the Compagnie Thor with Clinton Stringer and Dominique Duszynsky. Thomas continues to use her multidisciplinary training and knowledge inside of dance and is looking forward to sharing it this season with Dancers Inc.

Tim Capodice 

Tim Capodice is thrilled to be returning for his second season judging with Dancers Inc. Tim is an actor/comedian based in NYC with a Bachelor’s in Dance Performance from Oklahoma City University. In his career, Tim has been lucky enough to work with renowned directors and choreographers such as Al Blackstone, Bill Burns, Denis Jones, Josh Rhodes, and Richard J. Hinds. His favorite credits include: Paper Mill Playhouse, Asolo Repertory Theater, BCEFA’s Gypsy of the Year, HBO, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Broadway Comedy Club, and Greenwich Village Comedy Club.

Tommy Scrivens

Tommy Scrivens graduated from The Ohio State University with a BFA in dance. He has danced with Parsons Dance, dre.dance, Kristin Sudekis Dance, American Dance Machine for the 21st Century, demonstrated for the Verdon Fosse Legacy LLC, and was a founding member of marInspired. Recent highlights are the FX show Fosse/Verdon and the pre-Broadway run of Roman Holiday. He’s currently an adjunct professor at Marymount Manhattan College and was recently named the inaugural position of Legacy teacher for ADM21.
